The new world of fares

The new VMOBIL fare system, valid from June 1, 2026, makes traveling by train and bus in Vorarlberg easier, clearer, and fairer. In line with our motto, “you decide what moves you,” the new fares give you even more flexibility when traveling.

Important to know

Answer three simple questions and find the best fare for your needs:

  • 1. Where to?

LOKAL – from your starting point to neighboring locations

REGIO – from your starting point to neighboring locations + the surrounding region

MAXIMO – from your starting point throughout Vorarlberg

  • 2. How long?

Depending on the distance traveled, you can choose whether you want to buy your ticket for 60 or 120 minutes or for 24 hours. Within your chosen time period, you can then travel back and forth as you wish.

  • 3. How often?

Are you a frequent traveler or do you use public transport for your daily commute? Then the popular monthly and annual passes are still the right choice for you.

With your ticket, you’re no longer just traveling from A to B - you can travel back and forth as often as you like within the selected time period and zone. In addition, new options are available, such as the 24-hour ticket, which is no longer tied to a specific calendar day.

The three zones

Customize every trip to suit your personal needs: whether locally, within the region, or throughout all of Vorarlberg.

  •  LOKAL – The affordable entry-level fare for short distances

You can easily travel from your starting point to neighboring towns. No more counting dominoes – just hop on and go. For example, traveling from Feldkirch to Klaus is now much cheaper than before thanks to the expanded local zone.

  • REGIO – The perfect fare for journeys in your region

From your starting point, you can not only travel to neighboring towns, but also travel flexibly back and forth in one of the nine regional zones. For example, from St. Gallenkirch to Bludenz in REGIO 9.

By the way: Some towns or cities, such as Dornbirn, Bludenz, or Feldkirch, are located in two or three regional zones. They are in what is known as an overlap zone.

  • MAXIMO – The all-inclusive fare for the whole country

Travel throughout Vorarlberg from your starting point – that's your Maximo fare with the usual flexibility, but with new time options. And if you're traveling in more than one REGIO, you'll automatically receive the Maximo card and save money.
