Tickets and fares
The Vorarlberg Transport Association helps passengers get from A to B by bus and train anywhere in Vorarlberg, and even goes to neighbouring countries and Tyrol.
Ticket types
Overview of tickets

60- and 120-minute ticket
The 60-minute ticket is available for occasional journeys. It is valid for 60 minutes from the start time printed on the ticket for any number of journeys within the designated area and is issued for either a LOKAL zone or a REGIO zone.
The 120-minute ticket is perfect for occasional journeys across the country. It is valid for 120 minutes from the start time printed on the ticket for any number of journeys within the designated area.

24-hour ticket
Travel from morning to night with a 24-hour ticket:

Monthly tickets
For anyone who travels regularly but at irregular intervals:
Monthly tickets are valid for one month, starting at 00:00 on the first day of validity and ending at 23:59 on the last day of validity.See the fare conditions (in German) for further details about the tickets.

VMOBIL Klimaticket annual ticket
Want to travel by bus and train for a whole year? As often as you want and whenever you want? Then the VMOBIL Klimaticket is just the ticket for you. It is valid for twelve calendar months, always starting on the first of the month. Check out our Klimaticket website (in German) for more information about the VMOBIL Klimaticket.

Buying tickets

60- & 120-minute tickets, 24-hour tickets and monthly tickets
60-minute tickets, 120-minute tickets, 24-hour tickets and monthly tickets are available on all buses, at all railway stations and ticket machines, at the ÖBB ticket shop and, from summer 2026, at around 100 tobacconists in Vorarlberg.

VMOBIL Klimaticket annual ticket
You can order the Klimaticket VMOBIL either directly online (in German) or in person at the following service offices: VMOBIL Centre Feldkirch / Upper Rhine Valley, VMOBIL Centre Bludenz, Bus & Train Service Office at Hohenems Station, Dornbirn Station and Bregenz Station, Stadtbus Bregenz, Landbus Bregenzerwald.
Discounts and other tickets

Children under six
Children travel free of charge up to one day before their sixth birthday and need to be accompanied by another person (companion) as per the Public Transportation Act (Kraftfahrliniengesetz). A child over the age of six can also act as a companion here.

Children between the ages of six and 14
Up until the day before your 15th birthday, 60-minute, 120-minute and 24-hour tickets are available at half price.

Young people under the age of 26 and students
Young people between the ages of 15 and 26 are entitled to the VMOBIL Jugend Klimaticket upon presentation of a photo ID (valid student ID for students).
The Klimaticket VMOBIL Jugend+ includes the ÖBB Vorteilscard Jugend (obtained using a voucher).

Adults
Adults can get the non-transferable Klimaticket VMOBIL CLASSIC. Persons living in the same household are entitled to a partner ticket (see Partner ticket section)

Families
Families with children can travel for less with the family bonus: A person registered in the Family Pass or grandparents travelling with children only need one valid ticket when travelling together (60- & 120-minute, 24-hour ticket, VMOBIL Klimaticket, Klimaticket Ö). All that is needed as proof of eligibility is a Family Pass. You can obtain the Vorarlberg Family Pass free of charge from your town hall or municipal office. The family bonus can only be used if there is at least one child on the trip. The identity of the persons listed in the family register must be verified on request by means of photo ID.
Tip: Store your VMOBIL Klimaticket digitally in the Family Pass app on your smartphone. This saves you having to carry a plastic card.

Senior citizens
Seniors aged 65 and over are eligible for the VMOBIL Senior Ü65 climate ticket. Seniors aged 75 and over are eligible for the VMOBIL Senior Ü75 climate ticket. People living in the same household are entitled to a partner card (see the section on partner cards).

Partner ticket
For every Klimaticket VMOBIL, a partner living in the same household can purchase a Klimaticket VMOBIL at the partner rate. Available at all service centres upon presentation of a photo ID, proof of identity, the relevant supporting documents, and a registration certificate for both partners (which must not be more than six months old).

Groups
Three or more people over the age of 15 can all take advantage of the group fare (approx. 30% discount) for 24-hour tickets. Groups of ten or more must register in advance using our group registration website (in German).

Physically and visually impaired persons
Persons with a physical or visual impairment can get the VMOBIL Spezial Klimaticket. These persons need to provide proof of physical impairment of at least 70% or a visual impairment of 1/25 compared to regular visual acuity. Persons living in the same household are entitled to an equivalent and lower-price partner ticket (see Partner tickets section).

Low-income persons and asylum seekers
Persons in receipt of compensatory allowances and social assistance are entitled to discounts, as are asylum seekers:
- Persons in receipt of a compensatory allowance can purchase 60- & 120-minute tickets and 24-hour tickets as well as monthly tickets for the ‘fair’ fare upon presentation of the Faircard. 60- & 120-minute tickets and 24-hour tickets will be issued by bus drivers without a 50-cent surcharge. The monthly ticket can be purchased at a reduced price from staffed ticket desks (VMOBIL and service centres). It must bear the first and last name of the holder and is not transferable under ANY circumstances. You can find out how it works on the Faircard website (in German). Annual tickets /LOKAL or MAXIMO) are also available at a reduced price on presentation of the Faircard. Persons living in the same household are entitled to a partner ticket. This is available at all service centres by bringing a photo, ID and the relevant proof (see Partner ticket section above).
- Persons in receipt of social assistance can purchase 60- & 120-minute tickets and 24-hour tickets as well as monthly tickets for the ‘fair’ fare upon presentation of the Faircard. 60- & 120-minute tickets and 24-hour tickets will be issued by bus drivers without a 50-cent surcharge. The monthly ticket can be purchased at a reduced price from staffed ticket desks (VMOBIL and service centres). It must bear the first and last name of the holder and is not transferable under ANY circumstances. You can find out how it works on the Faircard website (in German).
- People with an OBS official letter (ORF Beitrags Service) and anyone living in the same household can get the MAXIMO monthly ticket for the ‘fair’ fare. It is only valid in combination with a Faircard, which is issued upon presentation of the OBS official letter and confirmation of address ('Meldebestätigung' - issued within the last six months) for persons living in the same household. The ‘fair’ monthly ticket is only issued at staffed ticket desks (service centres) upon presentation of the Faircard. It must bear the first and last name of the holder and is not transferable under ANY circumstances. You can find out how it works on the Faircard website (in German).
60- & 120-minute tickets and 24-hour tickets will be issued by bus drivers without a 50-cent surcharge upon presentation of the Faircard.
- Asylum seekers can get the MAXIMO monthly ticket for the ‘fair’ fare. The MAXIMO fair monthly ticket is only valid in conjunction with an asylum ID card and is issued exclusively by the supervising organisation as a personalised online ticket.

Carriage of dogs
Dogs travel free of charge, starting June 1 2026. Dogs are transported in accordance with the conditions of carriage of the respective public transport companies. Dogs must wear a muzzle and be on a leash. Dogs trained to provide support and assistance (such as guide dogs) are exempt from the requirement to wear a muzzle and be on a leash.

Carriage of bicycles
Bicycles require their own tickets. These are transferable.
Bus: Separate fare conditions (in German) and conditions of carriage apply to the transportation of bicycles on bus routes. Bicycles can only be taken on the bus if it has a rear-mounted rack or a bicycle trailer.
Rail: The ÖBB or MBS conditions of carriage apply here.

Cross-border transportation

Eastern Switzerland and Liechtenstein
A combined fare is available for cross-border journeys to Switzerland and Liechtenstein: VVV-Ostwind and VVV-LIEmobil (in German).

Bodensee Ticket – Rail | Bus | Ferry
Enjoy the sights of Lake Constance with a cross-border ticket for valid for one or three days. Travel on any trains, buses and ferries within the purchased zones.
