Discovering Vorarlberg on foot
Vorarlberg’s countryside is wonderfully diverse and unique, from moors and riverbank landscapes to towering mountains, packed into a small geographical space. For those who want to really experience this beauty, the best thing to do is strap on your hiking boots and see it up close for yourself. Public transport can take you to the starting point for your hike and bring you back home again reliably and in an environment-friendly way.
There are some practical aids available when preparing for hikes and finding your way once you’re there. The comprehensive digital Vorarlberg Wanderkarte (hiking map) provides details about the many possible routes. Directions for all the routes it has in its database – and there are hundreds – can be printed out and downloaded. You can also use layers to add information such as places of interest and rest areas, photos and bus stops. You can plan your journey by bus and train using the free cleVVVer mobil timetable app. This app shows you all the connections available.
