The cost of your ticket in the Vorarlberg transport association – from domino to maximo

The Vorarlberg Transport Association helps you get from A to B anywhere in Vorarlberg, and you can even go to neighbouring countries and Tyrol.

The Vorarlberg region is marked by a red outline on the fare zone map and divided into zones or dominos. Dominos are marked with green shaded squares (or grey shaded ones for dominos abroad and in Tyrol) and are used as the basis for calculating ticket prices: 1 domino = 1 zone and can be mixed and matched with as many other adjacent dominos as you like.

Maximo is what we call the Vorarlberg region as a whole, including the grey shaded, cross-border zones –  in Switzerland, St. Margrethen and Buchs (only by rail and only with maximo), in Germany, Lindau, and in Tyrol, St. Anton am Arlberg.

When it comes to the types of tickets, you can choose between single, daily, weekly and monthly tickets ((link to Tickets and fares | VMOBIL.AT)), as well as enjoy discounts depending on your age and circumstances.

Count, pay and off you go: it’s as easy as that

  • Count the number of zones by adding together the number of dominos (green and shaded boxes) between the start and end of the journey. maximo refers to the whole Vorarlberg region.
  • The top line shows the ticket type (single, daily, weekly, monthly annual VMOBIL Klimaticket)
  • Find out about other discounts that you can enjoy.
