The Vorarlberg Transport Association helps passengers get from A to B by bus and train anywhere in Vorarlberg, and even goes to neighbouring countries and Tyrol.

Ticket types

Overview of tickets

  • Single-journey ticket

    For those who only use public transport occasionally, that is who our single-journey tickets are for. They are valid for immediate use from the date and time shown on the ticket for travel to a particular destination without any interruptions to the journey.

  • Day ticket

    Use public transport from early in the morning to late at night with our day ticket. Day tickets are valid for any number of journeys on the particular route or in the particular area on the day shown on the ticket (until the end of service on that day).

  • Weekly and monthly tickets

    For people who travel a lot at different times: Weekly and monthly tickets are valid for seven days or one month, starting from midnight on the first day of validity until 11:59 pm on the last day of validity.

  • VMOBIL Klimaticket annual ticket

    Want to travel by bus and train for a whole year? As often as you want and whenever you want? Then the VMOBIL Klimaticket is just the ticket for you. It is valid for twelve calendar months, always starting on the first of the month. Check out our Klimaticket website for more information about the VMOBIL Klimaticket.

Discounts and other tickets

  • Children under six

    Children travel free of charge up to one day before their sixth birthday and need to be accompanied by another person (companion) as per the Public Transportation Act (Kraftfahrliniengesetz). A child over the age of six can also act as a companion here.
     

  • Children between the ages of six and 14

    Single-journey and day tickets are available at half price for children from the age of six to one day before their 15th birthday.

  • Schoolchildren

    There are special ticket offers available for schoolchildren that allow them to travel by bus and train all year round. Click here for more information about our SL+ passes and to order tickets (in German)

  • Apprentices

    There are special ticket offers available for apprentices and trainees that allow them to travel by bus and train all year round. Click here for more information about our SL+ passes and to order tickets (in German)

  • Young people under the age of 26 and students

    Young people between the ages of 15 and 26 are entitled to the VMOBIL Jugend Klimaticket and the VMOBIL 18+ Klimaticket upon presentation of a photo ID (valid student ID for students). Categories:

    • Klimaticket VMOBIL Jugend+: This includes the ÖBB Vorteilscard Jugend (obtained using a voucher). 
    • Klimaticket VMOBIL 18+: Persons under the age of 26 can get the ticket once at an even lower price.
    • Klimaticket VMOBIL 18+ VC: This includes the ÖBB Vorteilscard Jugend (obtained using a voucher).
  • Adults

    Adults can get the non-transferable Klimaticket VMOBIL CLASSIC. The VMOBIL CLASSIC Ü climate ticket is transferable. Persons living in the same household are entitled to a partner ticket (see Partner ticket section)

  • Families

    Families with children can travel for less with the family bonus: A person registered in the Family Pass or grandparents travelling with children only need one valid ticket when travelling together (single-journey family, single-journey full fare, day ticket family, day ticket full fare, VMOBIL Klimaticket or the KlimaTicket Ö). All that is needed as proof of eligibility is a Family Pass. You can obtain the Vorarlberg Family Pass free of charge from your town hall or municipal office. The family bonus can only be used if there is at least one child on the trip. Persons entered in the Family Pass must produce, on request, photo ID confirming their identity. 

    Tip: Store your VMOBIL Klimaticket digitally in the Family Pass app on your smartphone. This saves you having to carry a plastic card.
     

  • Senior citizens

    Senior citizens aged 65 and over can get the non-transferable VMOBIL Senior Klimaticket . The transferable VMOBIL Sparpreis Ü Klimaticket is also available. Persons living in the same household are entitled to an equivalent and lower-price partner ticket (see Partner ticket section)

  • Partner ticket

    For each VMOBIL Klimaticket , a partner living in the same household can purchase an equivalent or lower-price Klimaticket VMOBIL. These can be obtained at any service centre. All you need is a photo ID, the relevant documents and confirmation that both partners are registered at the same address (Meldezettel) (not older than six months):

    • When a VMOBIL Classic Klimaticket is purchased, the partner can get a lower-price VMOBIL Partner Klimaticket
    • When a VMOBIL Senior Klimaticket is purchased, the partner living in the same household under the age of 65 can get an equivalent VMOBIL Partner Klimaticket and, from the age of 65, a lower-price VMOBIL Partner Senior Klimaticket.
    • When a VMOBIL Spezial Klimaticket is purchased, the partner living in the same household can get an equivalent VMOBIL Partner Klimaticket or a lower-price VMOBIL Eco Klimaticket, provided that a 70% disability or a visual impairment of 1/25 compared to regular visual acuity can also be proven.  
    • When a VMOBIL Eco Klimaticket is purchased, the partner living in the same household can get an equivalent VMOBIL Eco Klimaticket or, on request, a free partner ticket if the partner is also in receipt of a compensatory allowance for pensions (Ausgleichszulage).

  • Groups

    Three or more people over the age of 15 can all take advantage of the group fare (approx. 30% discount) for day tickets. Groups of ten or more must register in advance using our group registration website (in German).

  • Physically and visually impaired persons

    Persons with a physical or visual impairment can get the VMOBIL Spezial Klimaticket. These persons need to provide proof of physical impairment of at least 70% or a visual impairment of 1/25 compared to regular visual acuity. Persons living in the same household are entitled to an equivalent and lower-price partner ticket (see Partner tickets section).

  • Low-income persons and asylum seekers

    Persons in receipt of compensatory allowances and social assistance are entitled to discounts, as are asylum seekers:

    • Persons in receipt of a compensatory allowance can purchase single-journey and day tickets as well as monthly tickets for the ‘fair’ fare upon presentation of the Faircard. Single-journey and day tickets will be issued by bus drivers without a 50-cent surcharge. The monthly ticket can be purchased at a reduced price from staffed ticket desks (VMOBIL and service centres). It must bear the first and last name of the holder and is not transferable under ANY circumstances. You can find out how it works on the Faircard website (in German).  Annual tickets (domino or maximo) are also available at a reduced price on presentation of the Faircard. Persons living in the same household are entitled to an equivalent or free partner ticket. This is available at all service centres by bringing a photo, ID and the relevant proof (see Partner ticket section above).
    • Persons in receipt of social assistance can purchase single-journey and day tickets as well as monthly tickets for the ‘fair’ fare upon presentation of the Faircard. Single-journey and day tickets will be issued by bus drivers without a 50-cent surcharge. The monthly ticket can be purchased at a reduced price from staffed ticket desks (VMOBIL and service centres). It must bear the first and last name of the holder and is not transferable under ANY circumstances. You can find out how it works on the Faircard website (in German).
    • Asylum seekers can get the maximo monthly ticket for the ‘fair’ fare. The maximo fair monthly ticket is only valid in conjunction with an asylum ID card and is issued exclusively by the supervising organisation as a personalised online ticket.
  • Carriage of dogs and bicycles

    Dogs and bicycles require their own tickets. These are transferable. Dogs are transported in accordance with the conditions of carriage of the respective public transport companies. Dogs must wear a muzzle and be on a leash. Dogs trained to provide support and assistance (such as guide dogs) are exempt from the requirement to wear a muzzle and be on a leash, and are transported free of charge.

    Bus: Separate fare conditions (in German) and conditions of carriage apply to the transportation of bicycles on bus routes. Bicycles can only be taken on the bus if it has a rear-mounted rack or a bicycle trailer.

    Rail: The ÖBB or MBS conditions of carriage apply here.

  • Event tickets
